What is the best way to clean my vehicle's interior?
There are three basic steps to interior detailing — vacuuming, cleaning and protecting.
When vacuuming, use a crevice tool to get into hard-to-reach spots and a small carpet brush to loosen dirt and lift matted carpet pile. A softer round brush works well on the seats.
Using a mild soap and water solution, wipe down the dash and door panels. Use a carpet and upholstery cleaner to remove stains and odors.
Finally, protect your interior by applying a protectant to all vinyl, rubber and plastic surfaces.
Why should I always vacuum first?
There are three reasons that vacuuming should be your very first step when cleaning your interior.
1.) If you vacuum after a careful exterior cleaning, you will end up blowing dirt all over your freshly cleaned car.
2.) It's easier to vacuum loose dirt from door jambs when the dirt is dry, rather than muddy from washing.
3.) If you vacuum first, you won't be pulling an electric cord through puddled water in your driveway.
